Here is what needs to happen:
- Make sure you have a valid CFRA race license in your position (except
for Joel because I have his in my position).
- Decide if you want to test for a full day (8:30 AM to 4:30 PM -
$390) or half day (1:00 PM - 4:30 PM - $255)
- Call Dave at Sears Point (707-938-8448 ext 156) and make reservations
for the day. Reservations are required and are considered a
commitment.
- Drop me an email and let me know your plans. so I can update everyone
else
Friday Sept. 3rd:
- Gates open at 6:00 AM
- Registration open at 7:00 AM
- Track goes hot at 8:30 AM
- Lunch at noon - 1:00 PM
- Dinner at 5:00 PM (Chevy's)
I did ask if I could make reservations for everyone but they said they would
prefer that individuals call.
This should be a perfect day considering that we'll have few other cars on
the track with us. Consider it almost a private CFRA day. The
Shelby Club has the track that weekend and very few people from the Shelby
club do any testing. The last CFRA test day was this same day and it was
very quite.
I know that testing at Sears is VERY expensive. The same track time
purchased at a CFRA event would only cost $285 but you would be sharing the
track with 25 to 35 other cars. At this event, I doubt that you'll share
the track with more than 10 other cars. Consider this premium track
time. Your extra $100 is to reduce the number of cars on track by over
50%. Besides, going to Sears Point must be a lot more fun than going to
work....
I urge all CFRA race team members to participate if they have extra money
in their 2004 racing budget. It should be a great day and it helps to
establish CFRA's name at Sears Point. If we don't want to loose race
testing privileges, we need to use their test days from time to time.
I also encourage anyone who wants to just come out and crew. It's
also a social event....
Please let me know if you have any questions.
