Event Details:

Hi Everyone - just wanted to update you on Joe's Going Away Party the weekend of October 22-23.    We were able to rent out all of the rooms at Bodega Bay Inn.  (There are several local hotels in the area if you were unable to get a room at the BB Inn.)  We have set up an itinerary for the weekend to help those folks not spending the night make plans.  Any and all suggestions are welcome so if you have a favorite place or just heard of somewhere you'd like to try, let's do it.

Saturday

12:30 - Lunch - Tony's Seafood, 18863 Hwy 1, Marshall - JC and a friend of mine both recommended this place, although neither one has been there.  It's described as a "hole in the wall" with some of the best local seafood around.  It's a tiny place and it may be a tight fit for all of us, but sounds worth it.

2:30 - 4:00 - Gourmet au Bay - a wine tasting bar on Bodega Bay with a gift boutique.  You can sit on the deck, enjoy a glass of wine and catch close up view of Bodega Bay's colorful fishing fleet, local windsurfers and a diverse sea life of seals, blue herons and sandpipers.  www.gourmetaubay.com

4:00 - 5:45 - Hotel Check-In, socialize in the greenhouse room.

6:00  - Dinner - The Sandpiper Dockside Cafe and Restaurant, 1410 Bay Flat Road, Bodega Bay  - The "Best Little Restaurant in Bodega Bay"  Homemade local seafood specialties to vegetarian delights!  Beautiful bay view.

Sunday

12:00 - Lunch - Lucas Wharf Restaurant and Bar, 595 Hwy 1, Bodega Bay - another local place with a fishmarket and fresh fish off the boats.

1:30 - Wine tasting - on our way out of town, those that would like to do a little wine tasting will stop at a few (to be determined) wineries.

If you are bored or are looking for a little more excitement there is also surfing, kayak rentals, biking, horseback riding, golfing, sportfishing, kite flying, balloon excursions, and skydiving available in the immediate area!
