Angel Island Excursion

Date: Saturday, July 30 2011

CFRA members and their guests will make a trip to Angel Island in the middle of San Francisco Bay! Ross Martindale has been kind enough to take the initiative to organize this excursion. Details below:

Please note the time and location details below, which have changed from the original posting!

  • Please register on the CFRA web site so we know who will be there.
  • The cost is $16 per person, round trip.
  • You purchase your ferry tickets online from Blue And Gold Fleet, not through CFRA.
  • The ferry leaves the Ferry Building, between piers 9 and 14 on the Embarcadero, in San Francisco at 9:20am. Suggest we meet at 8:30am for coffee and bagels in the Peets Coffee in the Ferry Building (intersection Market Street and Embarcadero).
  • The ferry arrives at Angel Island at 10:10am. (There is one stop on the way at pier 41.)
  • A few options here - hikes, walks, sit and watch the view, historical tours, etc. Suggest we just let people do what they want, give them a map, a time to meet back at the dock for a late lunch and some adult beverages.
  • Last Ferry back is at 4:40pm, although an earlier one is available at 3:20pm also. Was thinking 1:30 - 2:00pm meet at Cafe and Cantina. Good food, great views, live music and a bar serving oysters and such.
  • Ferry gets back in to SF 5:35pm.....where you can stay and play in SF or go home.
  • It's a really great outing, and for those that have never been, you will get some of the best views of SF and the bay you have ever seen.
